Megan Becker is currently a professional ballet dancer, Pilates instructor, and ballet teacher. She has traveled around the country dancing and training with some of the most elite ballet companies and schools in the world
In 2015, Megan accepted an offer with Avant Chamber Ballet here in Dallas. After moving to Dallas, Megan chose to pursue a career in Pilates here at Park Cities Pilates Center.

How did you get into Pilates?
I started Pilates as cross-training for my ballet career while I was in my final year of training at Pacific Northwest Ballet. I had a stress fracture in my foot that took me out during the second half of Nutcracker performances and a lot of audition season. Pilates got my back to full strength so quickly I knew that it would be a part of my life forever! 
What shows or movies have you been loving lately?
I've been watching old episodes of Veep, Gilmore Girls, and The Great British Bake Off. 
What are your summer book recommendations? 
Before We Were Yours (Lisa Wingate), Little Fires Everywhere (Celeste Ng), Daisy Jones & The Six (Taylor Jenkins Reid), Where the Crawdads Sing (Delia Owens), And Then There Were None (Agatha Christie). What is your favorite way to de-stress right now?
Virtual game nights with my family and friends, reading outside, walking around the neighborhood, attempting a challenging new bake.

Roxana was introduced to Pilates Method in 1996 while living in Berkeley, CA. She loved it immediately and started learning and practicing after a few months. She started her apprenticeship with Park Cities Pilates Center in 2003. She finished her certification with Power Pilates in 2005. She also earned her Certification from Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injuries (FAMI) in Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Roxana is very proud to have come back to Park Cities Pilates Center in 2013 to finish her certification with Romana’s Pilates. She is very honored to have met and taken lessons from Romana Kryzanowska in prior years.

Roxana is also a Yoga teacher influenced by Vinyasa Yoga, based on 200-hour certification program, in 2010. She is also a licensed Massage Therapist practicing Swedish and Deep Tissue, but her passion is Myofasical Release and Reflexology.

What is your favorite Pilates mat exercise and why? Side kicks - it strengthens and tones hips, legs and abs.

What project or hobby have you been doing with your free time away from the studio? Playing keyboard (used to play piano a long time ago!) and trying to remember how to play some notes again! 
What is your favorite self-care at home right now? Face mask! 
What is your favorite way to de-stress right now? Writing diary, meditation, reading, music, and talking more often to my family and friends!

Why do you love teaching Pilates? I love teaching Pilates because it improves balance and posture, it strengthens the core and stretches the body, just to name a few.

Pilates classes at home can a fun and effective work-out but check out our list below to make sure you are getting the most out of your classes with Park Cities Pilates Center!

1. Sign In Early 
Click the link for your class before the start time to make sure you allow time to get settled and to troubleshoot any issues.

2. Be Prepared
Make sure you have your mat and anything else you might need like a hand towel or water bottle. If you don't have a thicker style mat, we recommend a layering more than one yoga mats to create more cushion for your spine or putting your yoga mat on top of a rug or carpet. 
3. Find Your Angles
Set your screen up so that your teacher can see all of your body during the class. Normally the best angle is profile view, but if you need help sign in early and ask your teacher!

4. Check Your Audio
Do a quick soundcheck before the class to make sure you can hear your teacher clearly. Some people find that wearing bluetooth earpieces help, but if you are hearing feedback try muting your sound and see if it helps!

5. Make The Time Special
We all need to take care of our physical and mental health right now and 45 minutes of peace with your Pilates is great self-care! Gently remind your family (and pets) that you need to be uninterrupted for the next hour and they will get a happier you. Make time for yourself!

Amy was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She graduated from TCU in 2000 and is a dedicated Horned Frog fan! Her love of Pilates began in the spring of 2001 as a client at Park Cities Pilates Center. After several years of lessons, Amy decided to make Pilates a bigger part of her life and started teaching in 2007. Amy has a passion for volunteering and serving others as she works with several organizations throughout the metroplex. She is very involved in her church, loves being an aunt, and traveling.

What is your favorite Pilates mat exercise? The roll up - it stretches my back and it makes me feel longer!

What project or hobby have you been doing with your free time away from the studio? Mine have included writing and painting. 
What is favorite de-stress activity? Bird-watching. I even had my husband set up a camera to link to the TV so I can see all of them when I’m inside working. (Photo of Penelope, Frank and Marky Mark included)

Favorite go-to quarantine meal or recipe? Schezuan green beans!
